Welcome to the Library at Valley Union High School!

As Mrs. Allen and I begin our second year of supervising the Library at VUHS, we are pleased with the progress accomplished during the past year.  To date, approximately 2,000 hours of volunteer efforts have produced a library our students and faculty can be proud of.  Most importantly, we continue to make strides in adding library resources to our automated system and believe this zealous endeavor will be completed within the up-coming school year.

With the recent presentation of our first Library Annual Report to the school board, the following 2010-2011 statistics are noteworthy:

Books (Reference, Non-fiction, Fiction) in our collection:  6,802

Periodicals (52) and Newspapers (5):  57

Media (VHS, DVD's, CD's, Audio Tapes) holdings:  679

Vertical files: 880

Processed (added to our automated system) resources: 2,245

Total circulated resources: 1,167

Also, we are now currently in the middle of a major project which will either create, obtain/copy, and ultimately archive VUHS class graduation photos and yearbooks from 1946 to the present.

Finally, Mrs. Allen and I once again encourage each of you to visit our Library and see the amazing changes that have taken place over the past year.  Oh, and if you would like to volunteer in assisting students in our Library, please contact the school and ask for a volunteer packet.  We would love to have you on board.

Please view our Library Code of Conduct.
