" Inspire all students to be life-long learners."
"Highly Performing School "
Congratulations to Mrs. Molina who was selected by the Arizona Agricultural Association as one of
On July 28th, 2010, the Arizona Department of Education labeled, as part of Arizona Learns,
August 20th we had scrimmages for our volleyball and football teams. They were at home. Something new this year was we had four different varsity volleyballs teams. Teams played between three to four different games. It was the same set up for football with three different teams participating. It was a wonderful night for our students, and it was a great beginning to their 2010-2011 seasons.
August 18th was our Open House. About fifty parents and students attended the event. Mr. Taylor, Principal, introduced teachers and gave a brief presentation on AIMS scores around Cochise County. Valley Union sophomores had the highest scores in math (70%) and writing (87%), and finished second highest in reading (93%) and science (45%). After Mr. Taylor's presentation, Mr. Aguallo, Superintendent, gave a presentation on Title One. Finally, parents and teachers were released so parents could visit teachers in their classrooms.
If you are a student who is looking for a GREAT little school, Valley Union High is the school for you. We are a Highly Performing school. We have the Cochise County Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Laurie Davis. Last year, our Ag. program received the Gold Standard for Agriculture, and we had two FFA teams compete at the national level. Our music program performed for over 500 people during our Valley Night Live. We also had two students participate in the State Choir, which is a very difficult honor to achieve. We have a Knowledge Bowl team that competes with other local schools. Finally, for a small school, we have many different sports to choose from: football, volleyball, girl's and boy's basketball, wrestling, girl's track, softball, baseball, and tennis. Education is a great and powerful investment; Valley Union is a school that can meet your needs. Thank you.
